I was drawn to a particular bit of the seawall at one end by this guy’s insistent loud cheeping. Finally it deigned to show itself and nom on a few of these little orange berries. Its head feathers were all floofed up which told me it was super excited — maybe it was super hungry, or it wanted to share the bounty with any nearby friends?
There didn’t seem to be any other sparrows around, though, so I just stayed and clicked away and let my new friend romp around in the most perfect light possible.

I went back the following day, hoping to catch it again. Though I could hear a bit of cheeping and some movement in the branches, the songster wouldn’t show itself. Maybe just as well, the light was pretty poor and I wouldn’t be able to do it justice. It’s okay, I’ll be back someday.
