César de Vendôme Room
Named after the son of Henri IV and Gabrielle d’Estrées, uncle of Louis XIV, who was bequeathed the castle in 1624 and whose family ended up owning it for almost 100 years. According to the brochure, the fireplace dates to the Renaissance, but it was gilded and repainted in the 19th century with the arms of Thomas Bohier, 15th / 16th century notary and politician who, with his wife Katherine Briçonnet, replaced the previous castle on this site with the one we know today.
