Statue of St. Vitus
St. Vitus (a.k.a. sometimes Guy or Guido) was a Christian martyr whose life and death are pretty much pure legend. The story goes that he was born around 290 CE in Sicily, and died in 303 during the Diocletian Persecution. He started being venerated in the 5th century.
