European Green Woodpecker

This bird is built like a Northern Flicker, and acts like one too, digging around in the soil for bugs and things. But dressed much fancier! Merlin ID says: European Green Woodpecker. Female, because a male’s throat stripes would be red.

A surprise lifer! But then this is what I was aiming for when I decided to hike up the Petřín Gardens. It was a bit of a walk, but totally worth it!
