Sandhill Cranes

According to the staff, there are about fifteen Sandhill Cranes currently hanging around the sanctuary. They seem to mostly hang around the office and main pond, since they’re being fed mountains of grain 24/7. Being fairly finicky and territorial, they often bump up against each other’s personal spaces and small confrontations happen; the local family (2 parents + 1 young) are the most put out, I’m told. And wouldn’t you be, if a dozen strangers suddenly showed up and camped out on your front lawn?
