Barbizon City Hall

Barbizon is a quaint little village close to Fontainebleau. For a long time it was a favourite hangout of artists from Paris—escaping revolutions and / or seeking inspiration in the lovely nature all around—and contains a very high rate of art galleries per capita.

We only stopped for a brief look. Honestly I wish we’d stayed in Fontainebleau longer, but this was on our official itinerary, and people would have complained if we’d skipped it.
