Barn Swallows

Waiting for the ferry in Spitz to take us the rest of the way to Melk, and… are these Barn Swallows? They are! Turns out, Barn Swallows can be found in Eurasia as well.

Also it’s the North American subspecies that stands out with its red-brown chest. Most have off-white chests with some red in the throat. But it looks like there’s still some variety in chest colour amongst Austrian swallows.
