Calling crane

This crane—one of three strolling together on the trail—kept calling out with their weird ek-ek-ek-ek call. From what volunteers and the official Reifel Twitter account are saying I think this may have been Evan, the colt born here summer of 2021, who briefly went off on its own on its first spring, but then rejoined its parents when they lost their latest baby to a raptor in 2022. It just seems to be acting like a moody teenager, keeping its distance somewhat but not yet abandoning its caregivers entirely.
