Golden Fleece liturgical vestment
One of three liturgical vestments of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Dating to the early 1400’s, there’s a whole lot of symbolism here I can’t really follow. Embroidered on linen, with metal and silk threads, pearls, glass beads and velvet.
It looks like the Golden Fleece had / has its own chaplains, who I guess wore this during their official masses and ceremonies and things.
