Grand Trianon, outside
The Grand Trianon is of course super fancy and luxurious, but it really does feel cozier and more low-key than the main castle. Maybe it’s the ever-present tweeting birds (none of which showed themselves for my camera except some stupid crows, boooo) or maybe it’s the soft white, yellow and pink colour scheme for the walls, so much easier on the eye than flashy Baroque red and gold, or the much more restrained 19th century decor the curators decided to keep.
I totally get why you’d want to have your council meetings here (and not just for the heightened privacy) or take a break from the pressures of the court.
