Hoverfly

Hoverflies are a large family of pollinators, not as cool as bees or butterflies, and unnoticed by me until this summer. Their colours generally mimic bees or wasps but they’re almost always very fly-shaped: huge goggle eyes that meet in the middle, short antennae, two wings, thick thorax and abdomen, no pollen sacs.
