Life backstage

There was another intermission room, much more modernly furnished—part of the Opera House that was damaged during WWII, so they went ahead and chucked all that garish baroquerie. This is one of two huge paintings (I couldn’t find out the artist) decorating a wall. They represent backstage life: rehearsals, set building, costuming, scheduling, directing and so on.

As the guide brought up several times, the Opera House employs over 1,100 people from 150 nations, all working together to make magic happen, and I believe she also mentioned that each colour in these paintings represents one of these nationalities.
