Maybe pelicans

A gaggle of American White Pelicans way out on the flats off Brunswick Point. Or, that’s what I assume they are! Heat haze aside, they’re white, and about pelican-sized and -shaped.

They’re rare in these parts, and probably just passing through from further up north, on the way to California or something. The rare bird alert mentioned “up to” 56 individuals, but this is clearly not 56. Maybe the others have already moved on!
