Staronová Synagoga
This is the Staronová Synagoga, which literally means “Old-New Synagogue”. According to the Internet it is the oldest currently active synagogue in Europe (completed 1270) and the home of the legendary Golem of Prague.
Incidentally, there’s a restaurant nearby actually called The Golem Restaurant, serving Czech and Jewish specialities. I went a couple days later, and it doesn’t look like the servers are golems. If they are, they’re damn realistic ones.
The order of numbers on the Hebrew clock is interesting to me. From a bit of googling, they run counterclockwise, with 1 where we think of 11 o’clock. Don’t know what the minutes hand is doing though.
